City Communication Infrastructure

Welcome

Architect/Builder of Communication Infrastructure
Designing and strengthening the networks—digital, organizational, and interpersonal—that connect people, information, and systems for healthier, more equitable, and more resilient communities.

I am Matthew D. Matsaganis, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the School of Communication & Information at Rutgers University and core faculty at the Rutgers Global Health Institute.

My research examines how communication systems—from local storytelling networks to digital health tools—shape health outcomes, social equity, and community resilience. Through interdisciplinary and cross-national collaborations, I work to translate research into actionable strategies for policymakers, health systems, and communities worldwide.
